Built By Her: Celebrating Women in Business in Hong Kong with CHOMP and Fēnxiǎng

There was something very special about looking around a room full of women who are building. Building brands. Building communities. Building new ways of thinking, creating and consuming.

On 10 June, CHOMP and Fēnxiǎng (Fenxiang) brought together founders, entrepreneurs, creatives and industry leaders at Soho House Hong Kong for Built By Her — an evening celebrating women in business in Hong Kong and the future of food, fashion and culture.

Why we created Built By Her

Most founder events feel the same. We wanted something different.

Carla Martinesi from CHOMP and Louisa Dearlove from Fēnxiǎng set out to create the evening we'd want to attend ourselves: thoughtful conversations, meaningful connections, incredible food and ambitious people who care about what they're building.

The fashion panel: between fast fashion and luxury

Most people think fashion is a choice between fast fashion and luxury. What if the future sits somewhere in between?

Louisa moderated our fashion panel with three remarkable founders of independent fashion brands:

• Rebecca Ling, Founder, Parallel 51

• Hoiki Liu, Founder, Anthora Collection

• Antonia Yue, Founder, Antonia Yue Jewellery

Together we explored what it takes to build an independent fashion brand in Hong Kong, in a market dominated by global giants. We talked about challenging convention, creating strong brand identities, building loyal communities and creating new consumer habits — and how doing things differently can be a competitive advantage.

The honesty, insight and generosity our panellists shared were incredibly inspiring. The F&B panel and The Rescued Feast

A second panel brought together trailblazing women from Hong Kong's food and beverage industry, sharing the realities of building and growing brands in the city.

Guests also enjoyed The Rescued Feast by CHOMP — a zero-waste dining experience that turned rescued food scraps into an unforgettable menu, and led a wider conversation about impact and sustainability.

Thank you

A huge thank you to:

• CHOMP, for being an incredible partner and leading the conversation on impact through The Rescued Feast

• Soho House Hong Kong, for hosting us and creating such a wonderful space for connection

• Our fashion partners and sponsors, for helping bring the evening to life

• Our food and beverage partners, for an unforgettable dining experience built on creativity, sustainability and community

Most importantly, thank you to every woman who attended. The energy in the room was a powerful reminder of why spaces for women founders matter.

This was only the beginning.
